Hempfield Junior Varsity Black Knights were triumphant over Garden Spot 5-1 on Friday.

Hempfield Junior Varsity Black Knights got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Garden Spot committed an error, and Reed Rishell hit a sacrifice fly, each scoring one run.

Mason Corvino opened the game for Hempfield Junior Varsity Black Knights. The lefty surrendered one hit and one run (zero earned) over four innings, striking out seven and walking three. Carter McDowell stepped on the mound first for Garden Spot. The starter gave up five hits and five runs (three earned) over five and two-thirds innings, striking out five and walking five.
