Hempfield Varsity Black Knights were victorious against Cedar Crest Varsity Falcon 4-2 on Wednesday.
Cedar Crest Varsity Falcon opened the scoring in the top of the first thanks to two singles. Cedar Crest Varsity Falcon first got on the board when Isaac Kreider singled, scoring one run.
In the bottom of the fourth inning, Hempfield Varsity Black Knights went back into the lead after Logan Dougherty walked, Derek Katch was struck by a pitch, and Hempfield Varsity Black Knights scored on a wild pitch, each scoring one run.
Alex Wimmer earned the win for Hempfield Varsity Black Knights. The pitcher gave up five hits and two runs (zero earned) over five innings, striking out five and walking one. Davin Kolter took the loss for Cedar Crest Varsity Falcon. The starter went five innings, giving up four runs on six hits, striking out seven and walking three. Jaxsen Hulock collected the save.
