Hempfield Varsity Black Knights won big over Penn Manor 10-4 on Wednesday.
Penn Manor opened the scoring in the first after Ellis Van Name singled, scoring one run.
Hempfield Varsity Black Knights flipped the game on its head in the bottom of the first, scoring five runs on four hits to take the lead, 5-1. The biggest blow in the inning was a double by Camden Hulock that drove in one.
Alex Wimmer earned the win for Hempfield Varsity Black Knights. The starter surrendered two hits and four runs (zero earned) over two and one-third innings, striking out two and walking one. Ben Patterson took the loss for Penn Manor. The starting pitcher went three innings, giving up six runs on five hits, striking out two and walking six. Kieran Reihart and Chase Eby each threw scoreless innings for Hempfield Varsity Black Knights in relief.
Derek Katch and Brandon White each collected two hits for Hempfield Varsity Black Knights.
