Carter Kenyon drove in four runs on three hits to lead Hempfield Junior Varsity Black Knights past Ephrata 16-2 on Monday. Carter Kenyon singled in the first scoring two, tripled in the third scoring one, and tripled in the fifth scoring one.

Carter Kenyon struck out 10 batters on the day. The starting pitcher also gave up four hits and two runs over five innings while walking three.

Hempfield Junior Varsity Black Knights opened the scoring in the first after Carter Kenyon singled, scoring two runs.

Cooper Simes doubled down the left field line on an 0-2 count, which helped Ephrata tie the game at two in the bottom of the first.

A single by Alekai Nonthakan gave Hempfield Junior Varsity Black Knights the lead, 3-2, in the top of the second.

Hempfield Junior Varsity Black Knights scored six runs on six hits in the top of the third inning. Carter Kenyon tripled, scoring one run, Mason Mowery singled, scoring one run, Reed Rishell singled, scoring two runs, and Umer Virmani doubled, scoring two runs.

Mike Mitchell started the game for Ephrata. The starting pitcher gave up nine hits and nine runs (eight earned) over two innings, striking out one and walking two.

Hempfield Junior Varsity Black Knights accumulated 15 hits in the game. Alekai Nonthakan, Carter Kenyon, and Jackson Ford each collected three hits for Hempfield Junior Varsity Black Knights. Tate Lutz and Umer Virmani each collected multiple hits for Hempfield Junior Varsity Black Knights. Hempfield Junior Varsity Black Knights had patience at the plate, accumulating six walks for the game. Caden Kenyon and Mason Mowery led the team with two walks each. Umer Virmani stole two bases. Hempfield Junior Varsity Black Knights stole five bases in the game.

Cooper Simes provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Ephrata with two runs batted in. The cleanup hitter went 2-for-2 on the day. Ephrata turned one double play in the game.
